| President Zardari says Balochistan Empowerment Package to be implemented speedily |
Islamabad December 07, 2009:- President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the government was determined to speedily implement the Balochistan Empowerment Package after discussion and debate in the Parliament.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of the PPP Ministers of State in the Presidency Monday afternoon.

Islamabad December 8, 2009: Reports of 1.5 billion dollars of national and foreign assets allegedly belonging to President Asif Ali Zardari are no more than regurgitation of a decade old unproven politically motivated allegations.

PPP Co-Chairman Senator Asif Ali Zardari was born on July 26,
1955 in a prominent Baloch family from Sindh. He is the son of
veteran politician Mr. Hakim Ali Zardari. On his maternal side
he is the great-grandson of Khan Bahadur Hassan Ali Effendi, the
founder of the first educational institution for Muslims in Sindh.
The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was
among the prominent students to graduate from the Sindh Madrasa. |

Hakim Ali Zardari is an industrialist and landlord
from Sindh, Pakistan. Dr. Zareen Ara Zardari wife of Hakim Ali Zardari
died on November 12, 2002. Hakim Ali Zardari is the father of Asif
Ali Zardari, a famous Pakistani industrialist and Benazir Bhuttos
father in law. |

Struggle
Asif Ali Zardari was arrested on the night of 4th November 1996
from Lahore (Province of Punjab), upon dissolution of Mohtarma Benazir
Bhutto's government by residential order. He was held incommunicado
for two days and on Habeous Corpus petition filed before Lahore
High Court, the then regime disclosed he was detained under aintenance
of Public Order Ordinance 1961 for a period of thirty days. |
